NJPW has announced the cancellation of four January live events due to COVID-19 protocols.
The company has released a statement, confirming that the January 25, 29 and 30 Golden Series shows have been cancelled, and that the January 28 Aichi show has been postponed until April 18.
With a number of wrestlers presenting elevated temperatures or being in close contact with same, and in accordance with event protocols, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the difficult decision to cancel or postpone remaining live events on the schedule for January.
We deeply apologise to fans for the inconvenience, disappointment and concern caused by this decision, and appreciate your understanding.
The company plans to resume the tour with the February 6 event in Chiba.
These cancellations come after Toru Yano, Tomoaki Honma, Minoru Suzuki, Taichi, Taka Michinoku, and Satoshi Kojima missed three consecutive tour dates last week, due to ‘an abundance of caution‘.
We will provide updates on the situation as they become available.
