A new IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion was crowned at last night’s (May 14) NJPW Capital Collision event.
The main event of the show saw Hiroshi Tanahashi defend his newly won IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in a four-way match against Juice Robinson, Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley.
In a surprising result, Bullet Club’s Juice Robinson pinned Will Ospreay to win the title despite Ospreay’s leg being underneath the bottom rope.
Robinson’s win brings yet another title to Bullet Club after NJPW Wrestling Dontaku where they claimed the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles and the Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Speaking of Bullet Club, Switchblade Jay White and Hikuleo defeated IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada and Rocky Romero in a preview of the Okada vs. White showdown at NJPW Dominion on June 12.
The show also featured AEW stars Eddie Kingston and Brody King in matches. Tomohiro Ishii beat Kingston in a hard hitting bout, while King defeated Minoru Suzuki in somewhat of an upset.
