In a press release on their website, NJPW provided an update on Mercedes Moné after reports that she was injured during at the recent NJPW Resurgence event.

While news of a confirmed injury are unfortunate, it is hard to not be encouraged by the statement referencing “an injury to her right ankle” in lieu of initial reports that speculated her ankle was ‘broken’ during the match.

AEW and ROH star Willow Nightingale picked up the victory to become the first holder of the title.
