NJPW Star Bids Farewell Amid WWE & AEW Rumors

NJPW Star Bids Farewell Amid WWE & AEW Rumors NJPW/WWE

An NJPW star has seemingly bid farewell in Osaka, Japan, amid rumors about him potentially signing with WWE or AEW.

NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka took place on February 11 and saw Callum Newman taking on David Finlay.

It would be Newman who would be victorious in the match, with Finlay’s emotions on show after the match.

Finlay bowed to the crowd following the match, proceeding to embrace manager and NJPW booker Gedo, as you can see in the footage below.

As he headed back towards the entrance way, he kissed the NJPW logo before turning to the fans and saying “thank you”.

A further post would be shared by Finlay on Twitter, alongside his Bullet Club teammates, Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, and Drilla Moloney, with the message:

“MD4R.”

The acronym for “My Dog For Real”, it was closely associated with Bullet Club War Dogs since its formation in early 2023 under the leadership of Finlay.

It was recently reported that Finlay would be exploring his options in the United States following his NJPW contract expiry.

This goodbye has fuelled rumors that he could be set to join AEW, or WWE, where he has more ties, being the son of Fit Finlay and the brother of NXT’s Uriah Connors.

David Finlay has previously been announced to appear at NJPW The New Beginning USA on February 27 at the Cure Insurance Arena in Trenton, New Jersey.
