Wrestling Legend Teases Changing Iconic Look After Retirement Match AEW

A wrestling legend has teased a new look after competing in their retirement match at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month.

The January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 20 show saw Hiroshi Tanahashi retire with a loss to AEW’s Kazuchika Okada.

While Tanahashi’s in-ring career may be at an end, he continues to serve as the president and representative director of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Tanahashi has now teased a change of look in a recent post shared on his personal Twitter.

The post – translated from Japanese – suggests that the NJPW president could be changing his hairstyle, with Tanahashi stating that he’s getting a haircut.

At the time of writing, it isn’t known what hairstyle the NJPW executive may choose to adopt, having previously sported a range of styles in the past, with blond highlights often playing a part.

Tanahashi’s New Japan history has seen him as a record-setting eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, among his NJPW Grand Slam Champion record.

He made his debut in October 1999, having graduated from the NJPW Dojo earlier that year, and would bring his talents to AEW starting in 2022.
