NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final US in-ring appearance has been confirmed, ahead of his wrestling retirement.
The Japanese star’s final year as a wrestler has commenced, with Tanahashi set to wrestle his retirement match at next January’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 show.
Ahead of then, NJPW has announced several international dates, with one of them given an major caveat.
NJPW noted in an video listing upcoming events that fans will ‘witness Tanahashi’s final US appearance’ at the April 11 Windy City Riot event in Chicago, IL.
The NJPW Global Twitter account provided confirmation on Tanahashi’s final US in-ring appearance, writing:

Tanahashi’s opponent for his last match in the US hasn’t been confirmed.
The Ace wrestled twice during the Tokyo Dome weekend, first defeating EVIL at the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 19 event.
He then stepped into the ring with AEW’s Katsuyori Shibata for a five-minute grapping rules exhibition match at Wrestle Dynasty.
