The CMLL promotion in Mexico has signed New Japan Pro Wrestling legend Kazuchika Okada to appear on their Arena Mexico Show on August 17. Whilst the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion has appeared for the promotion before in his home country, this will be the first time he’s competed for them in Mexico.

Stepping into the ring for the first time since the NJPW G1 Climax, Okada will team with Ultimo Guerrero and Negro Casas to battle Caristico, Mistico, and El Valiente. The Japanese icon was eliminated from the G1 Climax after an excellent draw with Hiroshi Tanahashi
Kazuchika Okada lost the IWGP Heavyweight Championship to Kenny Omega at NJPW Dominion on June 9. Ever since, he’s struggled to secure victories, developing a new side to his already well established character.
The CMLL Arena Mexico Show currently looks like this:
- Volador Jr., Matt Taven, and King Phoenix vs. Rush, Cavernario, and La Bestia del Ring
- Kazuchika Okada, Ultimo Guerrero, and Negro Casas vs. Caristico, Mistico, and El Valiente
- El Audaz vs. Forastero – Lightning Match
- Atlantis, Diamante Azul, and Kraneo vs. Gran Guerrero, Euforia, and Rey Bucanero
- Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa, and Blue Panther Jr. vs. Dragon Rojo Jr., Polvora, and Okumura
- Super Astro Jr. and Oro Jr. vs. Disturbio and Yago
