NJPW New Japan Cup Day Six Results

NJPW New Japan Cup Day Six Results

Another night of New Japan Cup action has come and gone and the tournament field has started to thin out. The sixth day of competition has eliminated another four people from the tournament and we are closer to determining the winner.

While BUSHI was unable to advance to the next round, his Los Ingobernables de Japon stablemates SANADA and EVIL both had more luck. SANADA was able to avenge Shingo Takagi’s loss by defeating SHO and EVIL was able to defeat Hirooki Goto.

The build of TAICHI also continued as he defeated Kota Ibushi here in the second round. TAICHI has now beaten both of the IWGP Tag Team Champions in this tournament. If he doesn’t win the tournament he will likely get a shot at those titles with partner Zack Sabre Jr.

Here are the full results from the sixth day of New Japan Cup:

  • YOSHI-HASHI def. BUSHI
  • SANADA def. SHO
  • Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi & Hiromu Takahashi def. Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Yota Tsuji
  • TAICHI def. Kota Ibushi
  • EVIL def. Hirooki Goto

EVIL, SANADA, TAICHI, and YOSHI-HASHI have all advanced to the quarterfinals. They now join Tomohiro Ishii, Hiromu Takahashi, Kazuchika Okada and Taiji Ishimori in the next round.
