It was reported recently that Ring of Honor stars Rush and Dragon Lee were expected to return soon. While we are still waiting on that to happen, it has now been reported that Dragon Lee (or Ryu Lee in Japan) left Japan during quarantine.
This was reported on Voices of Wrestling, saying Ryu Lee had been in Japan at the start of the pandemic but had returned home. No reason has currently been given as to why he left Japan.
Ryu Lee was not one of the participants announced for the Best of the Super Juniors tournament. He has competed in each of the last three tournaments, including last year’s tournament where he entered as the reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
At the time of this writing, he has not wrestled since the start of the pandemic. His last match was a defense of the ROH Television Championship against Dak Draper in February. His last match in New Japan, specifically, was against Hiromu Takahashi at New Beginning in Osaka.
Dragon Lee will be a free agent when his Ring of Honor contract expires in December.
