NJPW Star Says Leaving Chaos Was The Most Important Moment In Wrestling History

New Japan Pro Wrestling is set to begin their G1 Climax tournament on September 19. Will they have a bigger moment in the tournament than Jay White joining Bullet Club? He would appear to think not.

During an interview with njpw1972.com, White discussed facing Kazuchika Okada in the tournament. He was originally supposed to face Okada in the New Japan Cup before the pandemic began but will now face him on the fifth day of the competition in Kobe World Hall.

This matters not to White, however. He seems more than happy facing him in the G1 Climax, calling it more poetic. He also said his betrayal of Okada in 2018 was the most important moment in wrestling history. Here is the quote:

“I guess it’ll be a little poetic, won’t it. It all comes around. I was supposed to face Okada in the New Japan Cup before that all went tits up, but now it’s an even more poetic situation. I get to beat him in the same building where I shocked the world in probably the most important moment in pro-wrestling history.”

At Destruction in Kobe 2018, White and Gedo turned on Okada, leaving Chaos in the process. The following month at King of Pro Wrestling, they officially joined Bullet Club with White assuming the role of leader.

White and Okada will clash in the main event on September 27.
