An AEW Lights Out match involving a current NJPW wrestler is being set up for next week’s episode of Dynamite.
KENTA made a surprise appearance at last night’s AEW Beach Break, attacking rival Jon Moxley to end the show. Hitting the G2S on Moxley before watching Kenny Omega from ringside, KENTA’s Dynamite debut had the wrestling world speculating the relationship between AEW and New Japan.
KENTA already seems to have his first AEW opponents lined up. AEW released a video to Twitter of Kenny Omega and KENTA’s first All Elite interaction.
After being told to “Shut the f**k up” by KENTA, Omega challenged Lance Archer and Jon Moxley to a tag team match, on behalf of himself and KENTA. Omega reasoned that because KENTA is signed to NJPW, AEW would be forced to make the contest an unsanctioned Light’s Out match.

AEW has yet to officially schedule this match, however as per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this match is set for next week’s episode of Dynamite.
An AEW and NJPW partnership has been teased since Hiroshi Tanahashi teased opening the “forbidden door” during his WrestleKingdom 14 rivalry with Chris Jericho.
While many AEW stars have wrestled in New Japan, KENTA is one of the first wrestlers signed strictly with NJPW to debut on AEW TV.
With KENTA set to wrestle on Dynamite next week, the forbidden door might have just been kicked open.
