It was recently confirmed that New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kazuchika Okada had COVID-19. Now, it has also been confirmed that TAICHI also tested positive for the virus.
The news was reported by Tokyo Sports who spoke to TAICHI who confirmed the news himself. He revealed that he thought he had the virus when he was in Fukuoka and took a test which confirmed he had the virus. Here is the quote from TAICHI’s statement to Tokyo Sports:
“I was in that state in Fukuoka. I thought it might be the case (that I had gotten the virus) and I was right.”
TAICHI also said he should have been more careful, despite taking the situation seriously.
“I understand that it’s not just a sickness. I’m the most serious man I go to. I didn’t go anywhere according to company rules, I did it seriously. But the result is you might think it’s a distant story about other people’s affairs. I should have been more careful.”
TAICHI and Zack Sabre Jr. have been feuding with the Guerrillas of Destiny over the IWGP Tag Team Championship during 2021.
