The next challenger for Mercedes Mone’s IWGP Women’s Championship was revealed at Sakura Genesis on April 8 2023.
At Sakura Genesis, Mone faced the STARDOM High-Speed Champion AZM and Hazuki, retaining her championship in the three-way encounter.
Celebrating her victory after the match, Mone would encounter her next challenger in the form of Mayu Iwatani.
Iwatani was reported as Mone’s opponent in an early report, though it was noted that “because of tradition on how they do things, they can’t push her for the show until 15 days earlier.”
The encounter will take place at the upcoming STARDOM’s All Star Grand Queendom on April 23rd.

It was recently reported that Mone has no further Japan dates after April 23 with “the ball in (Mone’s) court” as to where she goes to next.
Although Mone has not revealed her plans, WWE’s Bayley has promised to wait for the former Sasha Banks.
