NJPW
Following the Power Struggle event, New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced the main event for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.
At NJPW Power Struggle 2024, Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Shingo Takagi to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
Post match, Shota Umino came out to huge boos to confront Sabre Jr. and issue a challenge for his title for whenever he chooses.
On November 6, New Japan announced that Zack Sabre Jr. will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Shota Umino at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 in the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2025.
Umino earned this opportunity thanks to his victory over Sabre Jr. in the G1 Climax 34 tournament.
Also, Shooter scored a win over SANADA on the November 4 NJPW Power Struggle event.
If ZSJ retains his title at Wrestle Kingdom 19, he will defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against AEW star Ricochet at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, which you can read here.
