Here are the results from the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 16 on January 4, 2022.
In the main event of the show, Kazuchika Okada pinned Shingo Takagi to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He is set to defend his gold against Will Ospreay during the Night Two (January 5) show.
The NEVER Openweight Title also changed hands during the event, with EVIL defeating Tomohiro Ishii. Hirooki Goto and YOSHI HASHI also won the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship from Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.
