NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 Night 1 is in the books but some of the wrestlers may be feeling the effects for a while yet.
A number of reports have come out listing a number of injuries.
Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer would report on Twitter that:
“Omega and Okada were both good after the match.
“Omega’s eye was swelling shut from a cheeky nandos kick and his face had a footprint on it, but no orbital break or anything serious, at least as far as everyone thought late last night.”
Will Ospreay would share a photo showing himself bloodied and battered after his match with Omega, with what appears to be a boot print also evident on his arm.

Lio Rush would also provide an update on his injury after his match at Wrestle Kingdom 17, confirming he wouldn’t be able to perform at PWG BOLA.
Rush teamed with YOH to take on Catch 22 (TJP & Francesco Akira).
During the match, he suffered a facial injury during a spot on the ramp and shared an update on social media.
Nasty spill last night on the ramp left me with a few stitches and a massive headache. No broken facial bones. 🙏🏽 Thank you to the #NJPW staff for taking care of me. I’ll be good. Unfortunately BOLA is out the question. See ya in a few weeks. ✌🏽 pic.twitter.com/qHzfFy37lK

He would later follow this saying that he’s “never felt more alive” and thanking fans for watching.
Just a scratch……
Ok maybe more than a scratch 🤕. Either way, I’ve never felt more alive. Thanks for watching. #Wk17 #LioRush @njpwworld pic.twitter.com/DYpBJRhsG6
