A number of NJPW and WWE stars have teased matches following reports that the two companies are in talks to become exclusive partners.
Earlier today it was reported that NJPW and WWE are negotiating a potential partnership. Drew McIntyre has recently made a cryptic social media post, seemingly calling out a top NJPW star.
McIntyre posted graphics promoting his matches with Kofi Kingston, ahead of their #1 contendership bout set for Raw. Spelling out “OKADA” with the first letter of each line, McIntyre teased fans by mentioning The Rainmaker.
Subtly reacting to today’s news, McIntyre tweeted:
On Monday
Kofi will
Accept his
Doom
At my hands
El Phantasmo cracked a joke about WWE President Nick Khan. Implying that he had been pursuing a match in Tony Khan’s AEW, the NJPW star tweeted:
“wait, who’s NICK Khan? have I been texting the wrong Khan guy this whole time??”
NJPW star Tama Tonga seems to be a fan of the potential partnership. Taking to Twitter, The Bullet Club member teased a dream match with Roman Reigns and The Usos.
Suggesting that a deal could result in faction warfare, Tama Tonga tweeted:
“BulletClub vs Bloodline”
A recent report has revealed that Roman Reigns vs John Cena is being considered for SummerSlam 2021. WWE has confirmed that the Biggest Party of the Summer will take place on August 21. Here is the latest on WWE selecting an arena for the event.
