No. 1 Contender Match Added To NXT TakeOver: XXX

The Tag Team Championships have always been front and center in NXT. However, recently, they haven’t had the same spotlight as in the past.

It appears, NXT is making plans to bring them back to the forefront. Tonight, they announced there will be a match at NXT TakeOver: XXX to determine the Number 1 Contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles.

It won’t just involve 2 teams. It’s going to be a triple threat.

As you can see from the Tweet, Legado Del Fantasma will be taking on Breezango and Lorcan/Burch. The match will take place on the pre-show.

Tonight on NXT, Breezango lost to Legado Del Fantasma alongside Swerve Scott. This continued the feud between the two teams. Lorcan and Burch seem to be added just to get more folks on the card. Of course, they’ll also add a ton of talent and wrestling skill, but from a storyline standpoint, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

The winners will be the next in line to face Imperium. No details on when that match will take place, but it would seem a likely match to happen on a weekly Wednesday.
