If you watched Fyter Fest or went on Twitter after the show, you will probably have seen or read that Cody was busted open after being hit by a brutal chair shot to the head by Shawn Spears (formerly Tye Dillinger).

Cody has since reassured fans that despite requiring 12 stitches, he did not suffer a concussion and that he is okay.
There was some speculation that Shawn Spears had some backstage heat, but more reliable sources, including cagesideseats, have reported that the chair was gimmicked and there is no heat on Spears. The fact that Cody was busted open by the chair shot was nothing more than an accident.
