We are saddened to report that former WWE star and Hollywood actor “Zeus” Tom Lister has passed away. TMZ reported his passing earlier today. He was 62 years old.
The report states that law enforcement told them they were called to Lister’s Marina Del Rey apartment for an unconscious male. Lister was not transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead at the scene
Wrestling fans will remember Lister best for his role in the famous Hulk Hogan movie No Holds Barred where he played the antagonist, Zeus. As a result of his role in the film, Lister wrestled in both WWE and WCW in matches against Hogan.
He and Randy Savage took on Hogan and Brutus Beefcake in the main event of SummerSlam 1989. Lister also worked the infamous Tower of Doom match in WCW under the name Z-Gansta.
Away from wrestling, Lister was an accomplished actor, appearing in films such as Friday, The Dark Knight, and Zootopia.
From all of us here at WrestleTalk, we extend our deepest condolences to the friends, family, and fans of Mr. Tom Lister. May he rest in peace.
