Seemingly ‘No Way’ WWE Can Sell Out WrestleMania 38

An update has emerged on ticket sales for WrestleMania 38, ahead of the April 2-3 event.

This year’s Showcase of the Immortals will air from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This was notably the site of WrestleMania 32 in 2016, which had a record 101,000 fans (per WWE) in attendance for the event.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that, as of writing, 58,145 tickets had been shifted for WrestleMania 38 Saturday (April 2), and 57,083 for WrestleMania 38 Sunday (April 3).

Unsure whether WWE will be able to fill the arena to capacity on both nights, Meltzer wrote:

“At press time, the WrestleMania shows have 58,145 tickets out for the 4/2 show and 57,083 for the 4/3 show. So both nights have 22,000 to 23,000 seats left to fill in two-and-a-half weeks.

“There would seem to be no way they can legitimately sell out either night, but they also will probably get 65,000 to 70,000 in the building, with probably 7,000 to 10,000 comps, unless they more heavily comp the last week. Being WrestleMania, one would think it would be easy to comp as many people as they need to make it full and announce 100,000 for both nights.

“The last time in Dallas they exaggerated the number by 21,000 which is the record, as the usual protocol is an inflated number is 10,000 to 13,000. But they will likely inflate it by at least that much.”

At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will face off, with both the WWE and Universal Championships on the line. Several other high profile matches have been announced, including Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s title.
