Omos was reportedly not backstage at Monday’s episode of Raw, despite being advertised for the show.
Last week, it was announced that Omos would go one-on-one with his former tag team partner, AJ Styles, on the December 27 edition of Raw. Ultimately, Styles faced Apollo Crews on the show, and had a confrontation with NXT star Grayson Waller.
As per PWInsider, Omos was not backstage at Raw, as he had left Detroit, where the taping took place, and flew home before the taping. A reason for Omos’ absence hasn’t been confirmed.
WWE is currently dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak, with a number of talents and staff testing positive in the last week. Multiple top stars were pulled from recent Holiday Tour events, however Omos and Styles did wrestle during the December 26 Madison Square Garden show.
WWE reportedly wanted Styles and Omos to break up before Royal Rumble, as the company has significant plans for both stars in early 2022.
We will provide additional updates on the situation as they become available.
