WWE has been hyping up that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will make a major announcement regarding NXT Deadline on tonight’s (November 15) episode of NXT.
There has been a lot of speculation about what it could be.
WWE has been running a strange ‘countdown’ style promo for the NXT Deadline event, featuring a timer and the names of various NXT stars, which also captured the imagination.
Well it turns out that Shawn’s big announcement could be to do with a recent interesting trademark filed by the company.
WWE filed to trademark the term ‘Iron Survivor Challenge’ back on November 10, with fans believing it could be a new show for the company.
It turns out that rather than a new show, it could be a new match type for the NXT brand.
Fightful Select (subscription required), sources have claimed that the working plan for the ‘Iron Survivor Challenge’ is that it will be a match type for NXT.
Details on the rules for the match are not yet known, but Fightful notes that it may have some ‘scramble’ elements to it.
There has also been several ‘unique’ pitches made for the match.
Fightful notes that it was heavily implied that the Iron Survivor Challenge would be Michaels’ big announcement on tonight’s show, but that was not officially confirmed.
