Another match has been announced for the upcoming NXT TakeOver WarGames event. After playing mind games with one another for weeks, Cameron Grimes will face Dexter Lumis in a Strap Match.
The two competed in a blindfold match last week. The match did not accomplish much as Grimes quickly took off his blindfold and was chased around ringside by Lumis. This week, things were slightly different.
While there were no blindfolds, Lumis did appear to haunt Grimes. Grimes had just wrestled a match against Jake Atlas which he won in convincing fashion. Afterward, Grimes celebrated only to be confronted by Lumis who showed a wacky video package of Grimes running away from him.
Lumis then produced a strap from a bag as if to challenge Grimes. After a commercial break, William Regal told Grimes that he would have to face Lumis at NXT TakeOver WarGames in a Strap Match. Needless to say, he was not happy about it.
This will be the one-on-one TakeOver debut for both Grimes and Lumis having both debuted in 2019. Grimes competed at NXT TakeOver XXX but it was in a multi-man ladder match.
