This week’s episode of 205 Live will feature qualifying matches for the upcoming NXT Breakout Tournament 2021.
it was previously announced that the NXT Breakout Tournament will return, with some qualifying matches taking place on 205 Live.
On tonight’s episode, Andre Chase (fka Harlem Bravado) will make his WWE debut against Guru Raaj in singles action. Also set to debut is Joe Gacy, who will be going head-to-head with Desmond Troy. WWE has revealed that both of these matches will act as qualifiers for the tournament.
Chase had competed for Evolve, Dragon Gate and ROH before signing with WWE. Gacy is best known for his CZW run, holding the CZW World Heavyweight Championship three times.
Raaj notably faced Finn Balor during the Superstar Spectacle show in January. In 2020, Troy wrestled Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins on Raw, and Sheamus on SmackDown, as Denzel Dejournette.
Troy last competed on TV against Karrion Kross in December. Kross is reportedly on WWE’s list to receive a main roster call-up soon.
Bronson Reed is also expected to debut on Raw or SmackDown soon. The former North American Champion has revealed that he does have a preference as to which brand he is drafted to.
On July 1, Vince McMahon reportedly attended a meeting at the WWE Performance Center. A report has emerged, detailing the backstage reaction to McMahon’s visit to the training facility.
205 Live airs at 10 pm ET on the WWE Network and Peacock.
