Bron Breakker has commented on the potential challenge from Carmelo Hayes the occurred at the end of Vengeance Day.
Speaking to Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, Breakker chatted about his past as an NFL recruit as well as his current pick for the Super Bowl.
He also took time out to discuss what it has been like to be a WWE star and current NXT Champion after successfully defending his title at the NXT premium live event, Vengeance Day.
Breakker said:
“It was refreshing to go out and wrestle in front of a crowd like we had in Charlotte. That city is known for being great wrestling fans, so it was cool that they were into NXT.
“And that match was a reminder of who I am and what I’m about. I want to represent this brand and be the leader. I’m working to put a stamp on it. You know what you’re going to get, which is my very best.”
After his triumph over Grayson Waller, the event didn’t end on an entirely positive note for Breakker as he celebrated on top of the steel cage, a new challenger emerged.
Carmelo Hayes (accompanied by Trick Williams) appeared with an apparent challenge for the road to WrestleMania or in the case of NXT, their WrestleMania premium live event, Stand & Deliver.
Bron Breakker said of the program with Carmelo Hayes:
“It’s time,”
“I have a lot of respect for Carmelo Hayes, and this has been a long time coming. It’s time to settle the debate on who is the best.”
