Current NXT Star’s Father Discusses WWE Not Acknowledging Him WWE

While you wouldn’t realise it by watching WWE TV, current NXT star Brooks Jensen is in fact a second generation wrestler in the company, with his father Bull Buchanan signed with the company between 1997-2003.

While Buchanan didn’t achieve much success in WWE bar a solitary tag title run with The Goodfather as part of the Right to Censor faction, and a brief early partner of John Cena as B2, it is still perhaps surprising that WWE don’t recognise his son Brooks’ lineage.

Speaking to the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast, Buchanan would address the lack of acknowledgement from WWE and whether it bothers him, first mentioning other multi-generation talents.

He said:

“It doesn’t bother me at all. I told him, ‘Call me anything you want to, just call me paid.’

“What he told me, because you know, him and Bron (Breakker) and (Cal) Bloom (Von Wagner) were already down there, Solo (Sikoa), you know, they all had different names.

“I think they want to see them try to make it more on their own merits, but, I mean, everybody knows. That was the reasoning that I heard, which makes a lot of sense.

“Vince is always creating his own superstars so it just kind of falls in line with that, but it didn’t bother me a bit.”

Bron Breakker is of course the son of Rick Steiner and nephew of Scott Steiner, Von Wagner is the son of Wayne Bloom, Solo Sikoa is the son of Rikishi.

There also others, like William Regal’s son Charlie Dempsey, and The Rock’s daughter Ava.

As for Jensen, he has been in the headlines this week due to his shocking heel turn on Tuesday’s NXT (April 18), in response to a post from Jensen following the turn fans had some particularly humorous observations, click here to find out more.

Interestingly, it seems WWE may be leaning into Von Wagner being the son of Wayne Bloom/Beau Beverly as he did mention that on the latest episode of NXT.
