NXT Reportedly Dropping Capitol Wrestling Center Name

A new report has revealed that WWE plans to drop the Capitol Wrestling Center name for the venue of the ‘new’ NXT.

As per PWInsider, the arena in which NXT tapings take place will simply be referred to as “the home of NXT”.

NXT calling their Performance Center venue the Capitol Wrestling Center was an homage to Vince McMahon Sr’s Capitol Wrestling territory.

Tonight’s (September 14) edition of NXT will be the first of the new “NXT 2.0” era. It has been reported that WWE want to make it clear that the rebooted brand is a “whole new NXT“. Ahead of the show, there is reportedly a “great sense of unease” within the brand’s locker room

After Samoa Joe relinquished the NXT Championship, it was announced that the #1 contender’s four-way bout previously scheduled for the show will now be for the vacant title. The scheduled NXT Women’s Championship match has reportedly been pulled from the episode.
