Report: International Star Missed NXT Vengeance Day Due To Visa Issues WWE

An update has emerged on Dragon Lee, with the real reason why he hasn’t made his WWE debut now revealed.

In December 2022, moments after winning the AAA Tag Team Championship, Dragon Lee announced that he was WWE-bound.

While WWE has been touting the luchador as a high profile signing and a top international star, Dragon Lee has yet to wrestle for WWE, or appear on a live show for the company.

Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, visa issues are keeping Lee from appearing on WWE TV in the US.

Believing that WWE wanted to have him appear on TV ahead of the February 4 special, Meltzer said:

“They didn’t, they’re not relying on bringing in so many indie guys. I’m sure they wanted to introduce Dragon Lee, but he’s having visa issues, so he’s not there yet.”

Dragon Lee recently made an appearance via video on La Previa de WWE, where he spoke about his signing with the company.

Dragon Lee’s contract is reportedly for ‘high tier’ NXT money, but less than the average WWE main roster contract.

WWE star Dominik Mysterio recently noted that he’s hopeful that he can one day wrestle for AAA, hinting at a potential future working relationship between WWE and AAA.
