Earlier today, Triple H announced via Twitter that NXT will engage in its first ever tour of mainland Europe this coming June.

This announcement came along with confirmation that NXT will be attending Download Festival for the third straight year, in Derby, England. Download Festival takes place on June 8-10 and according to the official announcement on DownloadFestival.co.uk, some huge NXT names will be in action:

“Rolling into Download 2018 are massive NXT names Aleister Black, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, Nikki Cross, Shayna Baszler, Kairi Sane, The Undisputed ERA featuring Kyle O’Reilly and many more. Get hyped to watch high flying manoeuvres, action-packed matches and unexpected surprises along the way in a fully-fledged NXT show in a full-scale ring in the festival arena.”

Download Festival is described, according to their website, as the “UK’s premier rock festival”, and it’s hard to argue with that considering the confirmed 2018 lineup, which includes the likes of Gun ‘N Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and Shinedown among many others.

NXT wrestler Aleister Black, who makes his love for metal no secret, had the following to say about Download, according to LoughboroughEcho.net:

“I’ve been a music guy all my life. Getting to combine the two things that I love the most, metal and sports entertainment, on one of the most exciting stages in the world and to perform for a fanbase that understands me and is responsible for my success will make this an unforgettable experience.”

Following the festival, the NXT stars will head to Cirque d’Hiver in Paris, France on Monday, June 11, before the tour concludes at Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp, Belgium the following day.

The last time NXT went overseas was for last year’s Download Festival, before which they engaged in a tour of the UK, holding events in Aberdeen, Scotland, and in England’s Leeds and Brighton the following two days.
