With seven days until TakeOver and Brooklyn awaiting, NXT were back on the road last night to being their final set of live events before SummerSlam weekend in Citrus Springs, Florida.
Leaving out the majority of major names – NXT cannot afford any more injuries following the withdrawal of Aleister Black and the news that Ricochet’s grievance has worsened – in favor of showcasing the stars of tomorrow, the main event saw a 6-Man Tag Team Match featuring two stars of NXT UK.
In the headline bout, Johnny Gargano and Heavy Machinery went over Lars Sullivan and the Coffey Brothers in what was reported to be a very exciting match. Johnny Gargano, of course, is on a collision course with Tomasso Ciampa in a Last Man Standing Match for the NXT Championship next Saturday, whilst Mark and Joe Coffey are favorites to be crowned the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions.
In results from the rest of the show:
- Raul Mendoza put down Tian Bing
- Xia Li and Nikki Cross defeated Reina Gonzalez and Rhea Ripley
- Kona Reeves blasted Luke Menzies
- Keith Lee crushed Dan Matha
- The Forgotten Sons cracked Eh Nois
- Brennan Williams went over Marcel Barthel
- Bianca Belair whipped Jessie Elaban
