The first episode of the new relaunched episode of WWE NXT took place on October 4, officially putting an end to the 2.0 era of the show after a year.
Several matches were announced for the show heading in, including a six-woman tag team match, pitting Alba Fyre, Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark against Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne of Toxic Attraction.
However, when the show started, Alba Fyre jumped Toxic Attraction in the parking lot, before getting into their car and driving away with Mandy Rose, who was never shown on screen and simply implied to be in the vehicle.
The planned six-woman tag team match was changed to a tag team match, pitting Stark and Lyons against Dolin and Jayne, with Mandy not appearing on the show at all.
The reason for Rose’s absence has seemingly been explained, as her brother Richard Saccomanno passed away on October 3 at the age of 40. The family requested that donations be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness in his memory.
We send our condolences to Mandy Rose, the Saccomanno family & friends, and anyone affected by the passing of Richard Saccomanno.
