With the WWE Draft in the recent past, and a new crop of NXT talent earning a chance to showcase their talents on Mondays or Fridays, it’s unlikely we’ll see many more call-ups in the near-future, however, that doesn’t mean current NXT stars can’t call their shot early.

And who better to call their shot than the man who doesn’t miss, NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes who recently spoke with WWE Die Woche ahead of his NXT Battleground title defence against Bron Breakker.

While Breakker and Hayes were at one point rumored for a main roster call-up, both men ultimately remain in NXT.

Given the chance to be called up, which brand would the current NXT Champ prefer to be drafted to?

Hayes was asked this question and would answer with:

“I’d probably rather go to Raw (if I was called up to the main roster). 

“I mean yeah, I’d probably go to Raw. SmackDown’s so stacked and in a good way.

“I think I would benefit a lot being on Raw and I think that they could benefit a lot by having me.” 

With Hayes only just capturing his first NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 1, it is unlikely a move will be in his immediate future.

As for his opponent Breakker, WWE are reportedly impressed with his heel-work thus far since turning on the April 4 episode of NXT.

As well as this, at a recent media call with NXT boss Shawn Michaels stated that he believes the former two-time NXT Champion will remain on the brand for a long time.

NXT Championship – Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. Bron Breakker

NXT Women’s Championship – Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton

Heritage Cup Championship – Noam Dar (c) vs. Dragon Lee

NXT Tag Team Championship – Mark Coffey & Wolfgang (c) vs. Brutus & Julius Creed

North American Championship – Wes Lee (c) vs. Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate

Last Man Standing – Dijak vs. Ilja Dragunov
