DIY’s Final Chapter
This week’s show kicked off as Tomasso Ciampa arrived to a chorus of boos from fans outside the arena. Upon seeing NXT General Manager William Regal, Ciampa demanded an explanation for how Johnny Gargano was able to attack him last week. Regal offered the former friends and tag team partners the opportunity to settle things once and for all at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans in an unsanctioned street fight with a huge stipulation: if ‘Johnny Wrestling’ wins, he’s reinstated but if he loses, he’s out of NXT for good. Regal used a brilliant line, acknowledging the two men’s past relationship, where he told Tomasso that if he wants to get rid of Gargano once and for all that “this time, you will have to do it yourself.”
