NXT Review July 4 2018: “He’s become what he hates!”

Wonders will never cease. The Mighty have new co-ordinated ring gear, a proper entrance routine and no longer look like two guys who have been thrown together off the street. Long coats make a world of difference, you know. Otis emerges, now having to face the ‘Aussie Action Heroes’ one against two. Dozovic is certainly nuts enough to fight alone. The Mighty try to stop him at the bell by throwing a towel in his face. But a towel won’t halt Wrestling’s Ram Man. Dozer starts flattening ’em and then bellows that they hurt his “BROTHAAAA!” Nigel then utters the line of the night. “What did he say Percy? You speak ‘meathead’?” Thorn and Miller start double-teaming Otis and are showing more charisma in this match than at any time in their NXT tenure. It turns out that while The Mighty Don’t Kneel, they certainly do Heel…rather well, in fact.

Dozer is a “Freight Train of Pain” (thanks Mauro) as he mounts a comeback. Then he starts slapping his own beefy torso and hits that quite frankly unbelievable Worm Elbowdrop on both opponents. The fans are right behind him. But he misses a Vader Bomb when Miller pulls Thorn out of the way. A hard knee, a forearm to the back, and the Antipodeans chalk up another win. This was a Mighty improvement from what we’ve seen from them in the past. And Dozovic, bless him, is a cult babyface star in the making.

We’re only halfway through the show and it feels like we’ve seen so much already.

Bianca Belair is on honeymoon. No sign of Montez Ford though. My, those are sensational shades. She cuts a similar promo to Baszler’s earlier, only while lounging in a swimsuit on what appears to be the deck of a yacht. She calls Dakota Kai “the Captain of a Team that doesn’t exist”. Chortle! You gotta love the EST of NXT. Whatever that means.

Kairi Sane does an interview with The Hands of the assembled press. In a nutshell, she says she’ll make Vanessa Borne walk the plank then she’ll win the NXT Women’s Title.

The perpetually absent William Regal has made an edict via tweet. Adam Cole vs Danny Burch is happening!
