NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes has commented on his appearance on the June 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
On the show, Hayes and Trick Williams showed up to watch Baron Corbin’s Money in the Bank qualifying match against Butch.
Butch ultimately picked up the victory, rolling Corbin up after he yelled at Hayes at ringside.
Corbin then got physical with Hayes and Williams and the trio had to be separated by referees and officials.
This all comes after Corbin attacked Hayes and beat him down on the May 30 edition of NXT, indicating that the free agent will be the next NXT Championship challenger.
WWE NXT has shared a new video catching up with Carmelo Hayes backstage following his SmackDown appearance.
Hayes stated that he’s now 100%, and called for Corbin to meet him on Tuesday’s (June 13) NXT episode.
Corbin is already set to appear on the show. The free agent is set to face off against Ilja Dragunov in singles action.
A Heritage Cup Championship bout has also been announced for the show.
The announced card for the upcoming episode of NXT is as follows:
Baron Corbin vs. Ilja Dragunov
Noam Dar (c) vs. Nathan Frazer – Heritage Cup
Wes Lee, Tyler Bate, & Mustafa Ali vs. Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, & Jagger Reid
