Another NXT Star Out With Serious Injury

Another NXT Star Out With Serious Injury WWE

Another NXT star has reportedly suffered torn ACL according to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

The star in question is Sol Ruca, who was involved in a mystery attack angle on this week’s NXT (April 25), something that looks to have been done in order to write her off of TV.

While it is currently unclear as to when Ruca suffered the injury, Meltzer suggested that he’s heard the current training regime in NXT may be a potential cause due to other notable injuries on the brand recently, particularly in the women’s division such as Nikkita Lyons and Wendy Choo, the latter of whom did return recently.

Meltzer explained:

“There’s a lot of injuries there. A lot of people are blaming the strength training – that they’re doing heavy lifts as opposed to strengthening surrounding muscles to prevent injuries.

“People have brought up to me, there’s a lot of injuries, especially on the women’s side – there’s a lot of women’s injuries right now in NXT.”

NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell also suffered an injury scare at this week’s NXT Spring Breakin’ event on April 25 during her title three-way match with Roxanne Perez and Tiffany Stratton, as Hartwell’s leg bent in a bad way when catching Stratton on a dive to the outside.

Despite the injury and having to be taken backstage to the medical team, Hartwell came back out to end the match and retained her title as planned.

People in WWE have internally credited Tiffany Stratton as a big reason behind NXT’s TV ratings boost for Tuesday’s special event.
