Before Saturday’s NXT Takeover Brooklyn IV the NXT roster taped an episode of NXT TV from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. These are expected to be the matches for this Wednesday’s episode of NXT.
Warning. There are spoilers ahead:
In the first match Deonna Purrazzo squared off with Bianca Belair in a solid match. Belair secured the victory after breaking out of a Purrazzo Fujawara armbar and throwing her opponent into the ring post before delivering her finisher and getting the pin.
The main event was UK champion Pete Dunne defending his title and 455-day reign as champion against Zack Gibson. The crowd was definitely into this one from the beginning loudly booing Gibson and giving a huge reaction to Dunne. The match started off with Dunne working the arm of Gibson. There was some back and forth action as the two traded slaps, before Dunne dropped Gibson with a forearm smash and an attempted armbar that Gibson broke by getting to the ropes. After a moonsault to the outside by Dunne and a codebreaker by Gibson the pair hit stereo enzuigiris and the crowd broke into NXT chants. Gibson kicked the mouthpiece out of Dunne’s mouth. After that Gibson hit a clothesline on Dunne and tried to throw the mouthpiece into the crowd. Dunne stopped him, hit the finger break and then hit the Bitter End for the 1 2 3.
Dunne retains and his run as champion continues.
