NXT Star Announces Engagement

November will be a big month to remember for Leon Ruff. In addition to winning the NXT North American Championship from Johnny Gargano, he just recently got engaged.

WWE referee Aja Smith posted a tweet earlier today announcing the couple’s engagement. Along with two pictures, the tweet simply said “I SAID YES!”

Aja Smith is WWE’s first black female referee having made her first appearance earlier this year. She was signed to WWE back in February 2020 after having wrestled on the independent scene.

Leon Ruff is currently the NXT North American Champion. Having defeated Gargano for the title, Ruff also retained it against Gargano on NXT with help from Damian Priest. Now, Ruff will have to defend the title against both of them at NXT TakeOver WarGames.
