NXT Star Announces The Deletion Of Cameo Account

Earlier tonight, it was reported Vince McMahon sent an email to WWE talent outlining the plan for any talent who still have existing relationships with 3rd party applications like Cameo and Twitch. This policy includes WWE potentially taking over their accounts and giving wrestlers only a percentage of the proceeds.

Earlier, I speculated this wouldn’t go over well with talents. It appears at least one NXT superstar has responded by announcing the deletion of his Cameo account.

Roderick Strong has taken to Twitter to announce he will be leaving Cameo first thing tomorrow.

There are several other talents in WWE with Cameo accounts including Matt Riddle, Roman Reigns, R-Truth, and Bobby Fish. With some of Vince’s favorites having Cameo, it will be interesting to see if this new policy applies to them.

It will also be interesting to see what happens with Twitch. There are a lot of stars who have Twitch accounts including Ember Moon, AJ Styles, Lince Dorado, Mia Yim, Dakota Kai, and Adam Cole.

Will we see more folks announce they are leaving these platforms? This just seems like a company being greedy. As opposed to encouraging it stars to grow the brand and make some profit in their own time, it appears WWE wants to have complete control. We’ll see how this affects relationships with wrestlers moving forward.
