NXT Star Makes Appearance On WWE SmackDown

A current WWE NXT star made an in-ring appearance on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain.

WWE began it’s three week European tour tonight, with SmackDown taking place for the first-time ever in Barcelona, Spain.

On the show, Raw’s World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER made an appearance, with him coming to the ring for a promo.

During the promo, GUNTHER called out current NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom, who is from Spain, with him taking part in a match against the hometown hero.

GUNTHER ended up securing the victory in the match with a Powerbomb, before he continued to lock Axiom in a Sleeper Hold after the match, sending a message to Jey Uso ahead of their World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 41.

Tonight’s match was Axiom’s second time competing on SmackDown, with him previously facing off against Dragon Lee in November 2023.

Axiom was also in action at this week’s NXT Roadblock special episode, where he and Nathan Frazer were defeated by the TNA World Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy.
