Following on from Drake Maverick’s promise at the start of the year that 205 Live would receive an influx of new talent in 2019, a new face debuted at last night’s tapings.
Humberto Carrillo, formerly known as Ultimo Ninja on the indy circuit, answered Buddy Murphy’s open challenge, ultimately coming up short in the match but by all accounts putting in a strong showing.
The call up was not believed to be a one-off and Carrillo is expected to be a full-time member of the 205 Live roster from this point forth.
Carrillo only signed for WWE in mid-2018, debuting on NXT TV in August. However, his answering the open challenge was perhaps not a surprise as he was previously listed and then quickly removed from the advertising for the Worlds Collide tournament prior to Royal Rumble.
