Last night’s episode of NXT saw the start of the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. The first match held in the tournament saw Toni Storm and Mercedes Martinez take on Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter. One of whom paid tribute to the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley.
Toni Storm wore special leopard-print boots last night on NXT, striking the classic “Bang Bang” pose before her match. The leopard-print was a staple of Foley’s years under the Cactus Jack name. Foley was appreciative of the tribute as he posted his response on Twitter. Here is the tweet:

The tribute did not help Storm in her attempt to move on in the tournament, however. Despite their best efforts, Storm and Martinez were knocked out of the tournament when Storm was pinned by Catanzaro following a stunning corkscrew 450 moonsault.
Mick Foley recently revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 back in December of 2020. He was forced to quarantine and miss Christmas but ensured fans that he was okay and encouraged people to take the proper precautions so as to not spread the virus further.
