It was announced shortly after this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw that someone within the WWE Performance Center had tested positive for Coronavirus, and that all superstars were now going to be tested.
There have since been conflicting reports about the identity of the person who tested positive, with some suggesting they were an active wrestler, and others that they were simply a developmental recruit.
Thanks to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we now know a bit more about the identity of the person who tested positive.
“The performer who tested positive was a female wrestler in NXT who has not been used on television. She has been one of the fans in the crowd, and was last used in that role on 6/9.”
This means that she likely came into contact with several other people while taking part in tapings, which is very worrying news. While wrestlers in the audience are told to stand far apart from each other, none of them wear masks, and the amount of people in the crowd make the spread of the virus more likely.
We will bring you any further updates regarding this situation when we have them.
