When wrestlers work through injuries they prove once again that they are better than you or I. The latest star to reveal an injury is Pete Dunne, who revealed on Twitter that he wrestled a famous Takeover match with a broken foot.
As it has been two years since the NXT Takeover WarGames 2018 show, Dunne took to Twitter to reminisce. He followed this up by saying that he wrestled this match with a broken foot and his wife was in labour at the time. A lot to think about, no doubt.
Some extra context;
This was with a broken foot and a wife in labour back in the UK. Somehow made it back in time. Surreal couple of days. https://t.co/QAIX2zIiQV— ‘The Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne (@PeteDunneYxB) November 18, 2020
Dunne didn’t take time off after the event so one would presume his foot healed over time. Wrestling is no joke, folks.
Dunne teamed with Ricochet and the Viking Raiders (formerly the War Raiders) to take on the Undisputed Era. This was the second WarGames match in NXT history with the babyface-led team getting the win.
Pete Dunne recently returned to NXT, aligning himself with Pat McAfee. Their new stable now features Dunne, McAfee, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch and the group took down Kyle O’Reilly on a recent episode of NXT.
