Five NXT stars are reportedly backstage for tonight’s WWE SmackDown taping.
Earlier this week, PWInsider stated that Dakota Kai, Io Shirai, LA Knight and Roderick Strong were scheduled to be in Kansas City for Friday Night SmackDown. PWInsider now reports that these stars, as well as former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, are all backstage at the T-Mobile Center.
While Ciampa, Kai, Knight and Strong have all previously worked main roster dark matches, Shirai hasn’t wrestled on the main roster since Survivor Series 2019. As of writing, it hasn’t been confirmed whether or not these NXT names will be in action.
