According to reports, we could be seeing a couple of NXT stars appear on upcoming episodes of WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
Fightful Select (subscription required and recommended) is reporting that both Danny Burch and Killian Dain were set for today’s SmackDown tapings.
Even more intriguingly, it was noted that their expected appearances would be in conjunction with a storyline with King Corbin. On the last episode of SmackDown, Corbin enlisted the help of Shorty G to take out Matt Riddle.
It was added, however, that there had been changes to plans at the tapings which could mean Burch and Dain won’t appear. The tapings will only include one episode each of SmackDown and 205 Live, whereas earlier in the week, there had been plans to tape more than that.
Burch has made a couple of main roster appearances but has never been officially called up, and Dain was called up as part of SAnitY a couple of years ago but then went back to NXT when the group was split.
Burch competes on 205 Live regularly, so he could always have a match on there if he’s not going to be doing anything with SmackDown. Dain doesn’t, obviously.
