Earlier today it was reported that several WWE Superstars were left stranded in Saudi Arabia following their Crown Jewel pay-per-view last night.
WWE released a statement on the matter a few hours ago. They noted that despite the issues, Friday Night Smackdown on FOX will still be going ahead.
WWE has promised that along with appearances from Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Carmella, Nikki Cross and Dana Brooke, we can expect to see a few surprises on tonight’s show.
“As always with WWE, the show must go on. Live at 8/7 CT on FOX, SmackDown will feature Superstars, such as Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Carmella, Nikki Cross, Dana Brooke — plus, additional surprises.”
With it being announced during Crown Jewel last night that NXT will be included in his year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event, it has been rumoured that several superstars from the black and gold brand could be on tonight’s show.
With it taking three hours to get from the Performance Center in Florida to Smackdown’s venue for tonight Buffalo, New York, it seems plausible that WWE could have called several NXT stars to save the day.
As seen as the TLC pay-per-view back in 2017, WWE often performs well when its back is against the wall and plans are forced to change. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com as the show draws closer for more news on WWE’s plans.
