NXT Superstar Not Cleared To Compete After NXT Live

WWE is reporting after his NXT North American Title match with Roderick Strong, Velveteen Dream is not cleared to compete.  It was reported he has lumbar pain and was walking gingerly backstage.

Dream took several shots to his back during the match.  One very brutal bump came on a backbreaker to the barricade on the outside.

This is WWE reporting this injury, so it’s not clear whether this is a storyline or not.  However, if it’s not we hope Velveteen Dream will be on a speedy recovery.

NXT is entering a key time in its existence.  Losing a key player as they go live could be a huge blow.

WWE is also reporting Kona Reeves suffered an injury in a dark match against Damian Priest.  Kona Reeves needed 5 stitches after his match.

It was also reported Arturo Ruas had to have x-rays on his fingers after his match with Pete Dunne.

There were rumors of NXT trying to provide a more sports like production compared to other WWE shows.  Reporting injuries after shows is definitely a more realistic presentation.

While others may be injured, some may be closer to return.  Triple H said on his post NXT conference call that Tommaso Ciampa may be close to a return.

If he’s ready to go, he certainly could help fill any void if Dream were to miss any significant time.
