NXT Takeover 31 Could Have A Live Crowd

NXT Takeover 31 Could Have A Live Crowd

NXT has been in the news quite a bit today. First, it was reported that the brand would be moving away from Full Sail University this Sunday. Then, it was revealed that the show would be airing live going forward as well. However, now we have potentially the biggest news relating to NXT Takeover 31.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is currently reporting that this Sunday’s show could have a live crowd. Well, kind of. If a crowd does make it to the show, it will not be a paying audience. Rather, the crowd will be comprised of the family and friends of the talent.

The report states that talent were asked to bring family and friends on Sunday as recently as today. With NXT having experienced a recent outbreak of COVID-19, this seems like questionable timing at best.

This Sunday’s show will be the first Takeover event held outside of Full Sail University since the start of the pandemic. Also, should this crowd actually materialize, this will be the first time a WWE event will have had a live audience of people besides Performance Center trainees.
